Lost 1.8 pounds this week. That’s a grand total of 12.4 pounds. Getting close to that magic Irish stone (14 pounds)
To provide you with your favorite breakfast of bacon and eggs, different levels are required from the participants.
As the great politician once said; “The chicken is involved, the pig is committed.” The chicken lives to lay another day the pig have given his all, there is no way back and that is exactly what commitment is.
Where are you in your plight to lose some weight? Are you involved, are you committed, are you in for the long run or just as long as it takes for the great idea of a size 4, 6 or 8 to wear off.
The funny thing with commitment is that although the word might slip lightly from our lips the truth is that we seldom if ever commit.
Commitment means that are no options, no ways out, no way back. Think of standing at the edge of a cliff and jumping, that is commitment. There is no way out, no way back and no options until you reach your goal which is the bottom.
The chicken misses meetings, doesn’t get weighed in if he/she thinks that he/she has gained a few pounds and cheats. The pig sticks with the program no matter what. The pig is committed, the chicken is involved.
Which are you a chicken or a pig? Neither is good or bad. Being slim or overweight doesn’t make you a good or bad person. The simple reality is that you want to lose weight and if you want to lose weight and are not committed you will waver and in the end you will be back laying eggs.
Weight loss just like any goal is really hard to achieve. Success requires commitment. Failure requires nothing.
