Weight Gain is a Symptom

Just came back from WW.

Lost 3 pounds that is a total of 9.6 pounds in four weeks. Well done me.
Just as weight gain is the product of a habit or condition which turns out to be a way of life. Permanent weight loss can only be achieved by replacing the old habit or condition with a new one. What this means is that permanent weight loss is only achievable with a life style change which is focused at a healthy slim body.

A lifestyle change is tantamount to altering your inner belief patterns. An inner belief is a condition which turns out to be nothing but a common habit. A belief = a condition= a habit.

Imagine that the reason that you are miserable is because somewhere deep within your inner core a deeply held belief is triggering the conditions that are causing you to overeat and under exercise. To achieve weight loss that is permanent this belief must be eradicated.

It is easy to sign up to a weight loss program and lose ten pounds in a week or two but the reality is that most dieters are yoyo dieters fighting a life long battle against the fat.

The reason that they are fighting this life long battle against weight gain is that they have identified weight as the problem. Weight is not the problem; weight is a symptom of a condition or faulty lifestyle.

For weight loss to be lasting the focus of the dieter must change from weight to lifestyle.

What is a lifestyle? A lifestyle is a bunch of habits that come together to form who we believe we are. If you are overweight one of the habits/conditions that form your inner person is the cause. Something that you have accepted as good, healthy, and desirable and added to your inner core as who you are is actually sabotaging you waistline.

To succeed you need to apply yourself to the weight loss program that you have chosen and install that program in place of the current lifestyle that is making you a little larger than you would like to be.

However because your inner habit formation (which is who you are) is perceived as good and desirable it will challenge anything that threatens it with any and every devious method available.

What you feel as the temptation to binge eat or succumb to couch potato-hood is actually your inner core trying to kill of the intruder (new healthy habit/lifestyle) that is threatening to overwrite it.

Success comes with staying power. If you are easily derailed then you will revert back to the large person you were/are. Only by standing and facing your demons will you overwrite your inner habit/program/condition and become a new slim healthy you for the foreseeable future.
